omg I just saw the first vaguepost about my metalhead gerry posts what a milestone. for the record, goths can listen to metal and metalheads can listen to goth music. I'm emphasising that he's a metalhead bc we literally never get any indication that he's a goth and yet that's all people ever call him

it’s so weird when a post is explicitly chengxian and then people add lwj into the mix.
I blame CQL and the animation for not sticking to the relationship between wwx/jc faithfully and creating that whole extra subplot of jc/wq in cql bc truly, in the novel when it focuses on wwx/jc friendship, it’s silly teens that are just so intimate and knowledgeable about one another while being blurred with the strange history of their parents and the inherent competitiveness they both have and it’s way more than what could be viewed as just romantic ship or whatever
The conviction wwx has that jc will return with help when trapped in the cave, jc believing in wwx’s words that they are twin prides, jc having faith in wwx finding a core solution, wwx seeing jc’s scars and promising to get rid of them — it’s the little things in their interactions as people who grew up and trust and love each other to the point of giving up their lives for each other!!
it’s frustrating to see a good chengxian post and it being reblogged or commented with other characters that a) were never mentioned in the post b) removes chengxian and makes it some other ship
#maybe I’m biased since I read the novel and watched the anime#I’ve yet to see cql just bc a lot of fans left a bitter taste in my mouth#and the manhwa art style deteriorated so I stopped reading it but also they bro-coded them so hard#no hugs no light banter it was really weird#anyways i know cql is what got many people into the mdzs fandom which is why folks have a skewed idea of chengxian#but I really wish jc and wwx relationship wasn’t so demonized or watered down in the adaptations#like it’s complex and complicated but they were also teens and young#mistakes are made bc of the passion and trust and faith in one another#they literally gave their lives up for each other and I hate when folks are like well wwx would do it for anyone#bc no he wouldn’t!! he never had anyone as close to him as jc#I promise I’m not ignoring jyl bc their relationship is different in that there was no deep seeded conflict or complexities between them#but pls stop adding lwj to chengxian posts if he was never mentioned#unless it’s to give nuance and not just hehe wwx has two hands#yeah he does and in my explicitly chengxian post it’s so he can both hold jc hand while holding the bed as he gets railed#liztalks

oh i can already tell i’m about to have some really unpopular opinions about the edge of sleep tv show
#i remember everyone loving the podcast when it came out#but as someone who was an active fan of audio dramas and podcasts for years at that point the show just. made me frustrated#i realized later after listening to left right game that qcode has this very strange and almost uncanny production behind it#where they get incredibly famous actors to play characters and then bank their marketing on that alone#and the writing is always *almost* good. like sometimes you start to think you might actually be listening to a good show#bc i mean the audio quality and special effects are all stellar#but then the writing and acting is always just a little bit too over-the-top and dramatic for it to feel natural#like the writers don’t know how to portray emotion without visuals so they just make everything Way Too Intense#and each time it feels like they just ask ‘what’s the most insane thing that can happen next?’#’oh ok he’s gonna chop dave’s dick off’#and every time you start to actually like a character they say something misogynistic or just otherwise batshit fucking insane#not to mention that time in left right game where a girl confessed her love to her best friend before LITERALLY DYING FOR HER#only for the best friend in the next scene to be like ‘erm i’m not gay 😐 awkward…’ and she’s NEVER BROUGHT UP AGAIN#qcode productions are kinda like the fast fashion of fiction podcasts i think#they churn out so many so quickly and they always feel just slightly unnatural or superficial#not to mention when i tried looking into them years ago and it’s impossible to find#literally anything about them. like their minimalist ass website was so insanely insanely vague#and yet clearly they’ve gotta have a fuck ton of money backing them to have this absurd amount of a-list talent on board#(which really i think that is all they care about)#anyways yeah some markiplier fans are gonna get pissed at me for not kissing the ground he walks on. but i was one of you. i AM one of you#and i hate that somebody out there is holding the iron lung movie over us like we’re dogs and if we wanna watch it#we gotta watch this show. which BTW they are giving no details about where to watch it#and seemingly no promotion or marketing material for a show that’s been in production for years coming out in less than 3 weeks#just weird as fuck man. and i don’t even think mark has much to do with it

The worst crime a version of Jekyll and Hyde can commit is be unappealing. If you aren’t anticipating the next scene no matter how unpleasant it will be then it has failed.
#one of the easiest ways to make it unappealing is make one of them annoying as fuck which is what tgs does to hyde#unpleasant as he was 31!hyde had me wanting to see more scenes with him even if they were revolting and harrowing to watch#because he was well-written and well-rounded and you could tell there was a twisted logic to what he did#all I could get out of tgs!hyde is ‘jekylls annoying little brother that doesn’t like him and farts on his hand and holds it to his face’#like even when I read and liked the comic I was like……. so when is he going to become compelling?#he never did suffice to say#I never got to see the so-called ‘depth’ of the character the fans yap about because by separating him from jekyll you’re denying him depth#suddenly he’s not a psychosexual reading of jekyll but -again- his annoying little brother that always gets away with petty crimes#you’ve typecast him as THAT which is way less interesting than older adaptations do#as much as I like to see hyde be morally complex I also want him to be acknowledged as an intelligent mature adult#even if a very fucked up and emotionally stunted one#not to mention tgs has influenced the fandom for the worse and now it’s hard to find hyde content that doesn’t paint him as it does:#an annoying little brother figure that is more aggravating than disturbing. an unappealing husk#and like. are you aware of how DIFFICULT it is to make THE Mr Hyde unappealing? uncharming? uninteresting?#and yet. and yet.

My thing is that I just do not trust a single person who was involved in the show. It just seems like a lot of PR to fix their image and foster sympathy/goodwill/interest.
#i haven't seen compelling evidence that anybody actually tried to fight for canon (and reciprocated) destiel#just admissions that they played into the subtext#(which we already knew - that's why spn's been considered a prime example of queerbaiting since like 2011)#and non-committal statements about the pairing being compelling#edlund seemed to specifically say he wasn't censored/forced to rework due to the gay#yeah misha said the cw's homophobic and suggested the network was the barrier#but at least half of what comes out of misha's mouth is bullshit#like he also said they tried to pay him to stay bisexual#and as a result there's now a bunch of support being tossed out to the writers and some fans are talking about them like they're heroes#who valliantly fought against a homophobic network and were totally going to make dean and cas a couple#but were foiled by said network which is why the show ended with the gays being buried yet again#you see in the secret unreleased version...#and if we just let jensen make another season he won't let us down because of xyz vague statements#nevermind that he made a new show where cas was also never mentioned - cw censorship#nevermind the straightwashed version of soldier boy he's playing - that's kripke's fault#nevermind the statements he's made in the past about destiel and dean's sexuality - he's changed his mind#you can tell because he's said it's okay for fans to have their own interpretations about the series#idk maybe i'm too cynical and i'm being unfair#there's just too much vagueness from pretty much everybody for me to put faith in their intentions#especially if they are seriously considering attempting to revive the series - this sort of thing is great for drumming up interest#the writers being censored by homophobic execs is a familiar narrative ofc - but i don't see anything solid to suggest this is what happened#and it's not like there weren't queer relationships on tv when spn was airing - the show ended in 2020#it isn't even like there weren't queer relationships shown on the cw during spn's run - there were more than a few#i just have so many questions#spn#destiel

Creepy guy liking all my posts on Instagram and commenting “U always look so beautiful” etc. etc. Why is my life like this. I want to die.
#this is a third person from the two men I mentioned earlier this week . although this guy is still substantially older than me.#although unlike the other 2 older guys I am genuinely freightened of this person in some ways#he is fine to talk to in person a little but quirky but his Instagram/Facebook really freaks me out#he’s still into creepy pasta well into his 30s and he seems to get obsessive over women#I think he’s bi (although on other ocassions he’s said he’s only into men) yet whenever he breaks up with a girl he says he’s never dating#women again because they’re all crazy#he also really fetishes women in a weird way - he’s the type to do those weird duets with hot women on tik tok (the ones you find on cringe#accounts) and he finds a woman he knows vaguely irl and posts multiple images of her to his Instagram stories#saying that he’s their biggest fan and in love with them essentially#also his most recent story is about how he needs to be with someone because he has a really high sex drive and can’t stand with not being#without a partner#like that’s just a really fucking weird thing to put on your story#and what did he do after that? he started liking all my photos and commenting hearts under them#why can’t a normal person be interested in me#why am I thrust into these situations#I feel like I’m going insane

Theyre going to think I like canon and purely canon if I keep going on like this
